HELP was incorporated in 1996 and received non-profit status in March 1998. We developed a rescue/foster/adoption program where we fostered animals in our own homes. We survive on your donations alone and volunteers are always needed. Come help us, we ARE making a difference. Just because you cannot do it all, doesn’t mean you should do nothing.
In October 2005, we opened a no-kill animal shelter in Belton, Missouri. We are true no–kill, every treatable animal that enters our shelter gets the chance they deserve. If the vet says that there is nothing else that can be done and the animal is beginning to suffer. Only then will a staff member hold their paw while the vet releases the animal from his pain and an angel takes our place.
“Genuinely an amazing place and staff all around. First off, they offer the cats in their care a free roaming environment – where they aren’t stuck in cages all day, and instead get to socialize with each other and the visitors who come in to show them love or meet them for potential adoptions.
They also take care of cats in need of extra care and love, such as senior cats and cats with other more advanced needs until they can find their proper furever homes as well. rather than letting them go to high turnover kill shelters where they wouldn’t ever get a second chance most likely.”

Our history
Our Mission
HELP Humane is a 501(c)(3) corporation committed to ending the suffering and killing of homeless, abused and neglected animals by rescuing, sheltering, rehabilitating and seeking forever families for these animals and educating the public on proper pet guardianship and the importance of spaying and neutering. HELP Humane sanctuaries the animals that are deemed unadoptable, by the public, either due to the animal’s physical or psychological circumstances.
HELP Humane envisions the day when no healthy, treatable companion animal is killed to make space for another.

Our Vision
HELP Humane envisions a day when there are no longer companion animals being neglected and abused but each has a warm safe family that surrounds them. When all companion animals born are adopted into loving forever homes. A day when no dog is chained outside day after day. A day when a litter of kittens doesn’t mean others will die. A day when all pet owners are proud to say their pet is spayed or neutered. We envision a day when feral cat colonies are few and far between. HELP Humane envisions the day when no healthy, treatable companion animal is killed to make space for another. We envision a day when our services are no longer needed.
