Image is Tiny but Mighty!

My early life was rough and involved me living on the streets fending for myself. I always had to be on guard. After being welcomed into the sanctuary at Help Humane, I found a staff person I connected with. They understand me and my preferences.

Over time I met someone who cared for me and went home with them. We were total besties and I felt safe with him. Happiness forever together was not in our cards and I found myself at the shelter. I felt this safety rug pulled out from under me so in order to know that I am safe, my guard is up around me like a super protection bubble.

Since being back at Help Humane, there are a few people I have let into my little circle. Especially after being spoken to sweetly and gently offered treats. I’m a tad bit crosseyed so it is helpful if you talk to me while we are in the room together. I find it soothing and it helps me orient to my surroundings. Some people might consider me a little bit of a project…. Perhaps that is true. Sometimes I am a little socially awkward but please go slow with me… I will get more comfortable with a little time and patience.

I like structure and a good quiet system. All I can say is I know in my heart that I am totally worth it. Someone loved me once and I loved them back. I know my boundaries and love the people who respect my boundaries. I am truly worth getting to know and build a friendship with.
